Vivo is a Chinese mobile phone manufacturer that is slowly gaining popularity in the West. Before, they just focused their phones to be released in the Asian Market, but they are now trying to release more phones in the US.
Today, we are going to take a look at the Vivo X6 Plus. It is one of their new midrange phones that offer superior specs without compromising on the price. But, is it enough to become a premium midrange phone?
The Vivo X6 Plus looks like a premium mobile phone. It sports a minimalist design that is akin to the iPhone 6s. Vivo is not the only one sporting Apple’s flagship design, though, as other mobile phone manufacturers have done that as well.
This mobile phone has an all-metal chassis and it comes with an aluminum frame. The edges are a bit curved to help you with handling and I must say that the minimalist design of the phone really accentuates its premium look. I guess the saying “less is more” applies to this phone.
The Vivo X6 Plus is aimed to become a media device. You see, there is a lot of media content that you can consume using your mobile phone, and I think that is what Vivo is striving for with the X6 Plus.
It comes with a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1920×1080. Although it doesn’t have a 1440p resolution, the color saturation of the display is actually quite good. It even rivals the IPS display panels I am accustomed to.
Aside from the Full HD Super AMOLED screen, the Vivo X6 Plus boasts of impressive specs as well. It comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor with four cores clocked at 1.7GHz and the other four cores at 1.7GHz. On top of that, it also comes with the Adreno 405 GPU and a whopping 4GB of RAM.
Obviously, that is pretty much overkill as I do not see the need for more than 3GB of RAM. Still, having an extra GB of RAM won’t hurt at all; in fact, it will improve performance when running multiple applications at a time.
I am also happy with their built-in fingerprint scanner. The scanner is actually quite sensitive and it was able to record my fingerprint with accuracy. If you want to improve your phone’s security, you better make use of the fingerprint scanner.
The Vivo X6 Plus is a little bit measly. It does come with a 13-megapixel rear snapper and an 8-megapixel front camera. But, what makes up for the hardware is the camera app. The camera app is loaded with a lot of post-processing options and it even has different camera modes such as HDR, Panorama, and night mode.
Lastly, this mobile phone can last you a long while because it comes with a 3,000 MaH battery. Also, this phone supports 4G LTE support and it also comes with a Bluetooth Headset as well. If you travel by car a lot and you don’t want to suffer poor signal reception anywhere you go, then get a mobile phone signal booster.
The Vivo X6 Plus is indeed one of the best midrange phones that I’ve seen thus far in 2016. If you’re looking for a premium midrange phone, the Vivo X6 Plus is a sure bet.
